UGC NET Exam Dates 2020
University Grant Commission – National Eligibility Test is conducted every 6 months, that is twice every year. The candidates who clear the examination to get to apply for Junior Research Fellowship or be appointed as an Assistant Professor in their field of specializations. UGC NET 2020 Eligibility Criteria
Before submitting the NTA UGC NET application form, the aspirants should check eligibility criteria to ensure eligibility for the exam. Candidates can check the following information with regard to UGC NET 2020 eligibility criteria:
- Qualifying Exam: Candidates having a Post-graduate degree or equivalent from a recognized university can apply. PhD students can also apply. The candidates applying for UGC NET 2020 should have qualified the Master’s degree or equivalent in listed subjects scoring 55% from any state or central recognized university (50% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates).
- Minimum Marks: At least 55% marks aggregate should be there in the qualifying exam. However, there is relaxation for reserved category candidates and they should have minimum 50% marks only.
- Appearing Candidates: Those who are in the final semester of the qualifying exam can also apply. The appearing candidates of final year are also eligible to apply for the examination (provided they have to qualify the examination before awarding the post). These candidates must have qualified their Master’s degree within 2 years from the date of NET results.
- Relaxation: Degree scholars are eligible to seek 5% relaxation in aggregate marks. However, they should have completed a PG degree before 19th September 1991. The candidates are advised to appear in the subject of their Master’s only. The candidates whose post-graduate subjects are not listed in the prescribed list can appear in the related subjects.
- No upper age limit prescribed for Assistant Professor.
- The upper age limit is 30 years as on 1st January 2020 for Junior Research Fellowship.
- Reserved category candidates (SC/ST/PwD/OBC-NCL/Women) can seek 5 years relaxation in upper age limit.
- Those who are having research experience and LL.M. degree holder will also be eligible for 3 years relaxation.
UGC NET Application Form 2020
The application form for UGC NET 2020 exam will be available only in online mode. The candidates have to fill and submit the application form through the official website. We will also provide a direct link to the application form on this page when available. The aspirants have to enter the details and upload the scanned copies of recent photograph and signature on the application form. There will be no requirement to send the hard copy of application form to the NTA office. UGC NET Application Form is expected to release in the first week of February 2020 and last for the whole month.

UGC NET Admit Card 2020
Before the starting of examination, the National Testing Agency will release the UGC NET Admit Card 2020 on the official website. The Admit Card of UGC NET 2020 is an authority letter that proves the eligibility of a candidate to appear in the examination. The candidate fills in the personal details on the application form. All these details along with the examination details are mentioned on the UGC NET Admit Card. The candidates must see to it that all the details are correctly spelt and mentioned on the admit card. The admit card will be published on the official website. To download the admit card, the candidate must log onto the official website with their login credentials. While coming to the exam hall, it is mandatory that you bring the hall ticket. In the absence of the admit card, no candidate will be allowed to appear in the exam hall.
UGC NET Exam Pattern & Syllabus
National Testing Agency will release the official notification announcing the exam details of UGC NET 2020. The candidates would be able to check the Exam Pattern and Syllabus for UGC NET 2020 on the official notification. The examination is conducted online. There are 2 papers which are conducted on an interval of 30 minutes in between. Where Paper 1 is purely based on Aptitude and General Awareness, Paper 2 is solely based upon the specialized subject through which the candidate has applied. The questions are Multiple Choice Questions, and to be attempted through Computer Based Mode only. There is no negative marking in the exam.
UGC NET Answer Key 2020
UGC NET Answer Key will release on the official website of the National Testing Agency. As soon as the examination is over, NTA will announce the confirmed dates for UGC NET 2020 Answer Key. The answer key will give the solution of all the question paper set asked in the examination. There will be 3 types of answer keys. Since the exam is conducted in online mode only, the first answer key will be an unofficial answer key released by the academic institutes. Secondly, NTA will first release a Provisional Answer Key and then a final Answer Key. On the provisional answer key, candidates can raise their doubts regarding the answers mentioned. For the final answer key, NTA will consider the provisional answer key and its doubts. The corrections will be made. The candidates are not allowed to raise any doubts on the official final UGC NET Answer Key. Download the answer key in time and check your answers to calculate your marks.
UGC NET Result 2020
Finally, NTA will release the UGC NET Result 2020 on its official website. The marks mentioned on the Result scorecard of UGC NET will be considered final. Based on these marks a cut off will be set. Only through its official website, NTA will provide the results. If you are appearing in the examination, download result and check your final marks. Result declared by the NTA is considered final and is non-objectionable. NTA will not deliver the results through post or Emails. If you do not download your result in time you will be at a loss as the scorecard in an important document during PhD form fillings or applying for the Assistant Professor Jobs.
UGC NET Merit List 2020
Along with the result, NTA will also declare the Merit List. UGC Merit List 2020 will mention the names and scores of the candidate eligible to apply for the JRF posts or for the Assistant Professor posts. JRF Merits go higher as compared to that of the Assistant Professor. The Merit List will mention if you qualify for the Junior Research Fellowship or you can only apply for the Assistant Professor. There may be the case where you have cleared the examination but are not eligible for the JRF or Asst. Prof. Download the Merit List from the official website itself.
